My Story
My Story
Once Upon A Time,
Once Upon A Time,
Once Upon A Time,
I was a young goofball with two older brothers. Those brothers wouldn't let me play in their Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, so I loitered around the living room door, watching them and their friends create fantastic adventures.

Every day,
Every day,
Every day,
I'd consume sci-fi and fantasy through movies, shows, and video games, dreaming that one day, I'd create my own fantastic adventures.

One Day,
One Day,
One Day,
I grew up and got a job… as the receptionist at Rockstar Games.
For the next eight years, I worked my way up to become a producer, director, and - I couldn't believe it - writer.

Because of that,
Because of that,
Because of that,
I got a AAA education in crafting dialogue, constructing characters, collecting research, sticking mocap markers on horses, and holding my own with real rockstars.

Then,
Then,
Then,
I left Liberty City for Bikini Bottom, and became the Director of Digital Development at the #1 network for kids and family, Nickelodeon.
At Nick, I pitched games to executives, built prototypes for kids to playtest, and hoarded some killer swag.

Because of that,
Because of that,
Because of that,
I helped SpongeBob get a #1 Apple Arcade game, helped the Ninja Turtles grab big awards at The Game Awards, and, most proudly, developed Nick's first AR app.

Until Finally,
Until Finally,
Until Finally,
I left Nick and made the leap into my own fantastic adventure, helping game studios around the world tell their stories.

Forget connecting to the players' heads.
Can we quicken their heart rates? Moisten their tear ducts? Make the hair on their forearms stand on end? That's narrative success.

Collaboration
Everyone in the game studio plays a vital part in creating a game’s narrative.
Join forces with designers, artists, animators, producers, directors, engineers, QA - storytellers all.
Are you having fun creating... fun? Are you excited to work here? In meetings, do you smile?
Cash your lottery ticket already. We won! We're makers of magic, dreamers of dreams.
Fun
Structure

Players see only the top 10% of your narrative iceberg.
The submerged 90%? An invisible architecture, a hidden foundation, a tried-and-true framework for successful storytelling.
Research
Players thirst for truth. Ground your adventure with lifelike details. It takes work. It takes research.
How does a gunslinger in 1888 brush their teeth? How does a Runeterra mage learn a new spell?
